About Me

Guided by a deep fascination with the natural world, Kiara Johnson translates real-life forms into the medium of thread, using stitch to visualise the delicate beauty found in nature. Her practice focuses on capturing the essence of organic life, from momentary textures to subtle movements and intimate details, all preserved through embroidery.

Kiara holds a degree in Textiles and has refined her craft within a couture fashion atelier, where precision, technique, and artistry converged to shape her approach. Working primarily in free machine embroidery, she creates highly detailed, lifelike textures that blur the line between illustration and stitch. Her work often incorporates hand beading, adding depth, dimension, and light to each piece.

Through her embroidery, Kiara seeks to celebrate the quiet intricacies of the natural world, transforming thread and bead into expressive, living surfaces.
